  1. Hi Everyone - It has been a while! I think the last time I updated this thread the car had been to Winchester for its first visit... Since then it has been to Winchester 6 more times... To cut a very long story short (if people are interested in the extended timeline I will type it up... perhaps I'll do that anyway incase it helps someone out) the OCU has now been replaced and coded to the vehicle - and I can now become primary user on the car... however, this has NOT fixed the wireless android auto problem which persists... The car still states that wireless android auto should work so it's once again headed back to Winchester at the end of the month to hopefully get it sorted... (I'm not particularly hopeful, but hey..) Important to call out Jess and Dan at Winchester who have both been excellent throughout this period... G.
  2. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/503726-subwoofer-solution-in-superb-iv-hybrid-with-canton/ This also makes interesting reading... But doesn't help us without the right hardware...
  3. I'm also interested in this... Mine just has the random generic "sound system" rather than the canton... @337 are you sure that you have the amp etc from the canton system?
  4. Hi All, UPDATE: I took the car to Winchester Skoda on Thursday.. long story short they got to the point where they acknowledged that there was a fault, but that they are not able to fix it without more info from Skoda. They are in the process of getting that info and will rebook the car in when they have a fix to try and implement.. all of it seems to revolve around the OCU and some CANBUS errors... Let's see what Skoda say.. I have collected the car and now I'm waiting for them to call me to rebook it in. In the meantime there are some things on my car that now don't work - but that is to be expected - i'm not going to bother setting it all up again, that can wait for it to be fixed. They do want it for 3/4 days next time though! One other thing of note - I had a loan car while mine was in... a 24 plate Kamiq... I hated it, the ride was crazy firm, it was loud, the seats were really uncomfortable and the brakes were incredibly aggressive... but wow; it was economical..! got well over 55mpg in the two journeys to and from Oxford... While my superb IV was getting about 40MPG... Just wanted to update you all :)
  5. I assume 5 years from original registration? 17!? That's excellent!
  6. Yep - looks like a good priority list to me :) I think - unfortunately the only option is to go to a main dealer for this issue... they are the most likely to have the software bits and pieces.. But this does start a new discussion (new topic needed?) re servicing etc... I would always prefer to go to my garage that I know and trust, but are there any advantages to sticking with Skoda for servicing? For my old Superb (2012) I went to Marshalls Skoda for the first few service after buying the car second hand... but switched to my independent garage when Marshalls tried to "fix" my "electronically operated fuel filler cap" at a cost of £450... The filler cap was not electronically operated... it was simply mechanical and had got stuck... 🙄 I'm fairly sure that any wireless android auto boxes just won't work reliably with an MIB3 system due to other bits of wifi going on in the car... happy to be proved wrong...! I do like the look of the quadlock one though. I now have three such adapters (AAWireless 1/ AAWireless 2+/ and a Motorola MA1). Still over two weeks until my appt. with Winchester...
  7. @Dave77 & @JR RS Looks like pixel+superb is a popular combination! @OccyVRS I called Meadens, they were incredibly helpful but only had an appointment in mid September, I've booked that in case Winchester can't sort it... Hopefully they can!
  8. Hey @Dave77, thanks for this. Yeah, done this process multiple times.. unfortunately the wireless option just never appears... I have given up on AAwireless, it's long unplugged! I have a pixel 6, I have also tried with my wife's pixel 9 and my next-door neighbours One Plus Nord CE. I haven't tried an iPhone, but that's fairly pointless anyway, I don't really care if carplay works, I'm not switching to iPhone! Yeah, I can't set my user (or any user for that matter) as primary user, it just fails... I have tried multiple (10x +) times, the car just doesn't ever progress beyond the loading screen. I have used several locations, combinations of different keys, all sorts...! Very open to suggestions though! @OccyVRS thanks for the Meadens suggestion, I'm based near Oxford and it's already a fair trek to Winchester, I think I'll give them a crack, and then see what happens... If they fail, I'll give Meadens a call! Thanks for the tip!
  9. I did the hold on the power button, it made no difference... The only thing that got it out of the loop was all getting out of the vehicle, locking it and walking away for half an hour... Came back and it seemed to get out of the loop... I hadn't tried the emergency call button, I have noticed that there only seem to be two states on mine though, no light at all or a green light...
  10. It's booked in to Skoda Winchester on the 21st, so hopefully they can get to the bottom of it... Software on cars... 🙄 Thanks for your help, both 🙂
  11. Humour me... I just asked chatGPT about this issue and about the issue I am having with setting the primary user in my vehicle... Gpt said this: "The root cause is likely: A MIB3 software bug (332 is known to have intermittent issues with wireless projection and user binding) A locked Primary User state, limiting certain wireless functions Possibly an unstable Wi-Fi module handshake, which gets fixed in later MIB software" Later it states this again with this line: "MIB3 vehicles often limit wireless projection, profiles, or cloud services until a Primary User is successfully assigned. You’re currently in “Guest” or “limited” mode." The entry about a locked or guest user state has grabbed my attention... Is this a thing that anyone knows of? Or is it gpt going off at a tangent? It feels to me like the two issues are linked, but I don't want to draw lines where there are no dots!
  12. Had a go with this today @JR RS, unfortunately no joy... It won't connect at all now... I get the feeling that there is some sort of conflict on the phone because the phone insists that wireless android auto exists.. but the car doesn't want to play ball. I suspect you are having success in your 2.5MIB because there is not any kind of wireless option and thus the AAwireless works for you... Where as on MIB3 there is wireless somewhere in the chain so a conflict appears... This is just a guess mind you, I could be completely wrong...
  13. Hi all, I spent the morning driving from Liverpool to Oxfordshire with my family in the back with the car getting stuck trying to load a user profile for 2 hrs of the journey... Picture attached. It was incredibly annoying as we couldn't use the radio/nav/any other entertainment... Thankfully we stopped for lunch and after that the car seemed to jump out of its loop and I could use it as designed... Has anyone else had this with user profiles? Does it happen once you have managed to set a primary user? It seemed to be an issue with the guest user... I currently don't have a user account set as I have been having issues with becoming the primary user and lots of factory resets have become a bit boring...
  14. Thanks @JR RS, I'll emulate those on my unit and let you know what happens! Thanks 😊
