2nd Remote key problem

Hi, I have had a search thru here and also on google but so far no joy.

 

My spare key that Mrs Traco has no longer works, couldn't tell you when it was last used. I put in a new battery even though the key was lighting with the original battery. It will unlock the car manually and start it no problem so its just the central lock sync or maybe the transmitter has failed.

 

I have tried lots of suggestions, using the working key in the ignition and locking / unlocking with the faulty one. Unlocking and locking while holding buttons and so far I have had no luck.

 

The only thing I am hoping at this stage is that there is a specific MK II procedure that I have not tried. Some that I have used have been VAG / Octvaia and older superb but none specific to the II.

 

Any suggestions welcome or should I just go to a dealer or car key specialist?
