Help needed - locking

Featured Replies

Hi.

Just got my colour edition mk III a couple of weeks ago and have a couple of questions you might be able to help me with.

Firstly, locking, I found the manual very confusing for this! Do I just press the lock button on the remote key once to do a full lock? And twice if I don't want the interior sensors on?

Also at the dealer's, they told me to unlock by pressing the button twice. This was also confusing as it was set to open all doors. I assume when it's set like that I'd only have to press once to unlock?

Also what colour should the interior sensor light be, the one on the door pillar. It's either red or orange, but both say off. If I want the sensors inside to be on, what colour should it be?

You can set the unlock sequence via the radio

Either one blip unlock driver's door or all doors

Not sure on the lock to disable sensors my thought was double press to lock but not deadlock

Older ŠKODA models Inc my 15 plate roomster had a button to disable the sensors tbh I haven't looked for said button on the fabia

According to the manual there is a button. On the driver's door to disable sensors and anti tow system

Copy and pasta from the manual

As soon as the interior monitor detects movements inside the locked vehicle, it triggers the alarm.

As soon as the anti-towing protection detects tilts in the locked vehicle, it triggers the alarm.

Both systems should be deactivated if there is a possibility that the alarm will be triggered by movements (e.g. by people or animals) within the vehicle interior or if the vehicle has to be transported (e.g. by train or ship) or towed.

Deactivating
  • Switch off the ignition and open the driver's door.
  • Press the button on the centre column on the driver sideFig. 36,the symbol illuminates in the button.
  • Lock the vehicle within 30 seconds.

Disabling the two systems switches off SafeLock

I stand corrected found this in the manual

Deactivating
  • By locking twice within 2 seconds.
  • or: By deactivating the interior monitor and the towing protection link.

The warning light in the driver door flashes rapidly for about 2 seconds, then goes out and starts to flash at longer intervals after about 30 seconds.

If the vehicle is locked and the SafeLock system is switched off, the door can be opened separately from the inside by a single pull on the opening lever.

The SafeLock switches on the next time the vehicle is locked

Just to add to what @malcster posted ...

The button on the driver side B pillar, disables the interior monitor - the button has the word OFF under the car logo .. so, when it is illuminated - bright (orange), the ultrasound is OFF. When pressed in - low illumination (red) - the interior monitoring ultrasonics, are back on again.

Pressing the remote fob Lock button once, locks the car with SafeLock/Double-Lock turned on - standard.

Pressing it twice will disable SafeLock/double-lock - so if anyone is in the car, they can open the doors from inside. (you would also have to disable the Int Monitoring, as above, to leave someone in the locked car.)

Pressing the Remote Fob Unlock button, will unlock the car according to what is set-up on the radio (Press "Car" and press the cog on the bottom right - then select "Opening-Closing" ( or is it "Locking-Unlocking" ???!! ) - which gives the options of Unlock All Doors, Unlock doors only on driver's side, or Unlock driver's door only.

Hope that helps. Because the dealers often haven't the clue!
