Cam belt change

Featured Replies

Any one know what Skoda recamend at what mileage the cambelt and water pump should get changed?

Which engine?

It should be in the service book but skoda have revised the time scale side from 5 years to 4 years,

I personally would not feel comfortable going past 60k without a change but i only do around 8k per year so i will always go by the time scale side not the millage,

I have just had my second cambelt and water pump change on my vrs pd170, i got my cambelt kit at TPS for only £89 (should of been £179)and the water pump for £29 (should of been £46) they gave me the parts club discount i could not belive it i didnt even ask for a discount !

My vRS is currently in the workshop having belt and water pump done, as well as the aux belt(s?) - little did I realise the previous owner hadn't bothered

Means it's done ten years and 125,000km on the original belts :D

common practice seems to be pump every other belt
