Rearguards Steel Guard

Featured Replies

The stainless steel bumper guard I ordered arrived yesterday from rearguards.co.uk. After spending the night fretting about fitting it, and the implications if I screwed it up, I took the plunge this morning.

It seems OK. It's not obviously c#*k-eyed. I think it's vaguely central. I did manage to scrape a tiny bit of lacquer off the bumper with the corner of it as I was trying to be uber-careful placing it down with the tape exposed. F#*king annoying.

And I don't think I like it very much. It looks OK, but I certainly wouldn't fit one for aesthetic purposes. I just think the rear looks better without it.

Hey-ho - I bought it for practical purposes, and the pooch has already tested it out by placing her paws on it later in the day when getting out of the car, so I guess it's doing its job.

I will post some photos at some point, as I know a couple of other people had been asking if anyone had any photos of a steel one fitted. I couldn't really take any today as it started raining soon after I'd fitted it and hasn't stopped since. Plus, it looked especially bad as the car was filthy, apart from the top of the rear bumper that I cleaned carefully before sticking it on... :D

I'm hoping I'll come around to it over time, otherwise I might be in the market for some dental floss and patience.
