  1. Hi

I wonder if you can help. I currently have a female Rottweiler and we are looking add a male German shepherd to our family. I am looking to buy either an Octavia estate or superb estate and was also looking at the variocage XL double, do you think this would be large enough for both dogs? Also I have seen on another post that this cage actually fits in both the Octavia and superb so I am assuming there would be no benefit in me getting the superb if I buy a cage, only if I was to use a divider and dog guard.

    Thanks in advance

    Regards

    Mark

  2. Since moving from Superb to Kodiaq this whole thing puzzles me even more. You can close the Kodiaq tailgate from the inside, which eliminates any safety considerations from the decision to not implement it in the Superb. I wonder why they persist in not making the function available?
  3. You seem a little upset about the fact I'm not walking to an alternative parking spot. I refer you directly to @silver1011's eloquent and accurate response... Quite. 😆 😂 👍
  4. That looks a very similar fit to mine - I also have to hula under the tailgate if I want to open it. A little nerve wracking....
  5. ...and they’re pretty useless in horizontal rain.
  6. Update - it goes in! ....just, with the mirrors folded. Now the countdown begins until I become complacent and scrape it in some way.... 😱
  7. Anyone have experience of which insurers know what a pedalbox is, accept it, and don't charge a ludicrous amount when notified?
  8. I'd recommend Mitchell Skoda at Cheshire Oaks too - always a good experience for me.
  9. Anyone going to own up to this in Audlem, Cheshire today?
  10. Yes, I'm struggling with this too. I suspect a pedal box (nod to the Superb Forum) is the best solution, but have yet to take the plunge myself.
  11. Folks, I'm up to my ears in moving house, and hugely behind. I've just discovered the Travall Dog Guard, complete with fixings, from my 2016 Superb estate - https://www.travall.co.uk/skoda/superb-estate-2015--/travall-dog-guard-tdg1495 Anyone want it? Caveats: You will need to pick it up before Thursday lunchtime from Tushingham on the South Cheshire / North Shropshire border. I can't help you fit it and will have to rudely hand it over and send you on your way within 2 minutes of arrival - my apologies! There is a fitting guide at the above link. It's a bit dusty and grubby, having sat in the understairs cupboard for over a year since I replaced it with a crate. When I took it out it was in great condition and the fittings are in a bag attached to it. I'm not aware of anything missing but can't guarantee it. Give me a shout if you're interested via PM with your mobile number so we can sort via text. It seems ridiculous to put it in the skip, which is what will happen if it's still here on Thursday afternoon.
  12. The 150 diesel only had adblue after a certain point, in late 2017 I think. My 2016 version didn't have it. Made life much easier!
  13. I had this problem with my previous Superb III, where they chewed through the harness and most assistance systems keeled over. After a few hundred quids worth of repairs I did a couple of things. I parked further away from the trees and fence I think the mice live in, but only 10 feet or so. I also installed an ultrasonic thing on the drive that was under the car when parked and switched it on overnight. Seemed to do the trick. I was 'inbetween dogs' at the time too, which I'm sure was a factor. When my new dog arrived I removed the ultrasonic thing. No problems since - fingers crossed! It was this time of year, too.
  14. Great ideas here, and worth investigating - thanks. The variocage fills the entire boot area (but not quite enough to stop it moving slightly!) and has full width doors at the front, so straps right over the top probably won't work and allow the doors to open. However, a variation of the theme might be possible. Will grab a photo when I can, as there are clearly sharper minds than mine here.... 😁
  15. I'm struggling with this too. I have a Variocage in mine, with a tie down point at each corner. While there are tether points near the entrance to the boot, there are none at the back other than the ones on the back of the seats. I can't use these as in an emergency you would need to drop the seats to get access to the cage. Consequently it's moving around slightly during travel. At the moment it have it anchored to the U-shaped metal things that you see when you drop the seats down, but I don't think this is particularly safe or appropriate - and it's certainly not working very well. Unless you get some helpful suggestions to this thread I'm thinking I'll have to screw some eyelets into the boot floor, which I really don't want to do....
