18" Alloys from an Audi, will they fit?

Featured Replies

I've been looking at alloys and found a set for £500 in immaculate condition from an S3 but the dimensions of the tyre are 225/40/R18 5x112.

Would this be too big for the Fabia? I've seen others mention 215/40/R18 being ok so would another 10mm be too much?

You need 5x100 PCD wheels.

The Audi A1 Competition line had 225/35 R 18 tyres.

I tried a set of wheels and tyres off one on a vRS and did not like them. They fitted OK though.

Ah bugger ok I'll keep looking, what was it you didn't like about the bigger size from the A1 Competition Line?

Too much tyre on the road, good for traction off the line, not great handling with a vRS IMO..

I like 215/40 R 17 or 205/45 R 17 and set for less assistance on the steering.

Do you find the 215 a better ride than the 205 in 17" George?

215/40 R17's are good i have used them in Summers & Winters but have had too many damaged sidewalls, same as 205/40 R17's.

so back using 205/45 R 17's because they drive fine and have stronger sidewalls IME, but these are XL (reinforced) sidewalls.

Hi,

You should take a look at THIS link in terms of fitments.
