Mis-sold specifications advice

Featured Replies

I've recently bought a Skoda Octavia vRS estate. The car was advertised with the upgraded Columbus system, but when I got home I realised it was the Bolero Amundsen. Some quick facts;

- I have the specifications from

the salesperson on an email

- the salesperson rang and admitted his mistake post-sale.

- I was told it could not be upgraded; then later on that it could be but at cost to me.

- salesperson asked me to email their sales manager with facts and proposed resolution

- I emailed with the facts (above) along with the upgrade cost

- I got no reply. I rang and spoke with the sales manager who said 'I've got no money to do anything. The car is what it is. You can return the car. I'm in no position to offer you money off.'

"You have miss sold me the car" I said. "If you want to look at it like that, you can" said the sales manager. I politely thanked him for his help and hung up

the phone.

Where do do I go from here? It seems to be that I've been mis-sold. Should I return the car, can they get me my old car back? Should I have to make the 7 hour round trip to do this? Am I being unreasonable?

I've contacted Skoda UK and will be seeking their advice. But should I be seeking legal advice, sending the car back or what?

Appreciate this his may not be totally clear to you. But I'm happy to clarify anything - I will be factual.

Trading Standards would be first call.

Edit: And stop phoning them, do it via email or letter.

Thank you for your advice. I will see what Skoda Uk say, then revert to trading standards if they cannot offer resolution.
