Power windows problem

Featured Replies

I have Skoda Octavia 2008 2.0 and I have problems with my power window, it sometimes roll up then down again, it isn't stuck but I think it might be the switch or controller if there is such a thing, is is possible? even if both switches are doing so? should I replace only the master switch? (the window against the driver side)

Under what circumstances do you get that issue, with engine running (receiving power from car's charger) / with engine off (getting power from battery) ?

Have you noticed any dirt/debris in the windows black soft rails?

Which windows the problem affects?

If dirt gathered in the rails it is possibly that the auto-return function (child safety or object) is enabled due to difficulty in window closing...

I assume problem is when trying to close windows only.

Yes I guess you are right, it's doing this only when closing and it feels like it works very hard to get it closed + doing some noises..

what is the best way to clean this properly? Thank you!

Think this has been reported before but you can use a soft cloth or microfiber one and use a mild detergent or a mild cleaning general purposes and pass it/rub the inner side of the rails round the window (with window down of course).

You'll see it will remove some black dirt...

Hopefully this may help then the issue you re facing..
