Newbie with questions

Hello all, I recently bought a 2.0TDI VRS and have a couple of questions.

It came with an aftermarket stereo which seems to be connected to the brains of the car, parking sensor display, door cue etc but the radio has very poor reception I have no idea on the make or model of the stereo. but will the poor signal be an easy fix?

the rear N/S window doesn't like auto open/closure it'll move a bit and stop, is there something I can do?

I'd love the maxidot display clocks, will they just be a case of plug and play and code with VCDS?

Is powerfolding mirrors an option for the MK2?

think that's all, will be searching the forum on the above and will delete/edit as appropriate. but for now thanks in advance! :)

On the first point, the poor reception may be due to a failed aerial amplifier which is located just below the aerial mount. Alternatively, as you have an aftermarket radio, the radio may have been installed without the 12 V supply to the amplifier.

On the second point, it may just be that the controller needs to relearn the two stop positions.

Do that by moving the window to the lowest position and then holding the switch in the down position for a few seconds. Then immediately raise the window at the top, then hold the switch in the raise position for a few seconds. It should now work.

There are threads on here for power fold mirrors and maxidot retrofits. The answer depends on whether your car is a facelift model or not, but from the colour I guess it is. Do a search on here to see past threads on retrofits and you will find a mass of information. Similarly, there are threads on power to the aerial amplifier.

Okay that's great, thanks. Will get and have a look at some point then.

I didn't think to reset the window, as the other side works but will give it a go tomorrow.

Mine is on a 07 plate.

Power folding mirrors came in on the mk2 facelift, I think. Am not aware of this feature on pre FL models.
