my key is stuck in the ignition barrel and will not turn back enough to turn off the engine let alone release the key. it will turn forward to start the car but will not turn back enough to turn off the engine any ideas?

Disconnect the battery, order new key barrel (take it to the dealer to get it coded)...

Have you tried rotating the steering wheel and if DSG that it's in park?

Yeah rorated the steering wheel both ways no luck had the rac have a go too but told the barrel has probably dropped but wondering if it might have anything to do with the switch?
