I’ve found some wheels I like but unsure wether they will fit I’ve got a pre facelift vrs saloon the wheel specs are 18x9.5 et40 Annie able to advise 

Well the factory vrs wheel specs are 18x7.5 et51, so the new wheel will be about 14mm closer to the suspension and the outer rim will poke out about 36mm.

They'll poke out at the front like a mofo.  Like 15-20mm past the guards.

 

The rear might just tuck under... maybe.

 

This is 8" ET35.  9.5" ET40 will be 14mm further out.

 

You will also be 14mm closer to the strut than the OEM 7.5" ET50 wheel.
