Front brake pads wear indicator Octavia 1.4TSI

Featured Replies

Hi just wanted to ask if somone know how to tell if I have front brake pad with wear indicator or without as I need to buy replacement pads but need to make sure I buy the right ones. Car is Octavia 1.4 TSI - reg. 2010.

Thank you.

Best thing to do is buy the pads with the wear indicator, if you don't have the sensors fitted then cut it off the new pads.

Best thing to do if you are changing your brake pads yourself is go take a wheel off and check what is fitted. 10 minute job.

If having someone else like a mechanic, let them get the pads at trade price. Then the correct ones will be purchased.

Did the front pads on my 1.4 TSi (also 2010 year model ) last week.

Wear sensor is on the front left (passenger) side only.

The factory original pads were marked VW AG but also marked Ferodo, so got Ferodo again: set FDB1398.

The brake type is Skoda/VAG type "1ZF" on mine which is very common over VAG group cars.

Hope that helps.
