Replacing Engine and Transmission mounts 2011 Octavia 2litre TDI

Featured Replies

Hello

We have had a vibration issue with our 2011 MKii 2litre Octavia TDI (67000miles on clock), which the Skoda Agent here in France has narrowed down to the engine mounts needing replacing.

After keeping the car for over a week, and now saying they can't replace the mounts until 9th November, I have decided to do the work myself as I need  my car (we live in the sticks).

I can only carry out the work using a trolley jack to support the engine and block the car up on axle stands or wooden blocks at the jack points.

Does anyone have any experience of fitting any / all 3 mounts and can give me an idea of how easy its been to replace them, or any tips for replacing them? The Haynes manual makes the job appear reasonably easy, but just want to check!

I am not a total novice (former motor engineer, but no longer own a garage, lifting gear, etc ), but don't want to get stuck with the car jacked up! Will leave it for another 2 weeks with the agent if its going to be a trauma.......

Real pain in the but and not too impressed with the French Skoda dealer, TBH  - oh, and no courtesy car!

Many Thanks
