Hello Škoda, Hello All

Featured Replies

Having owned various VeeDubs - from a Beetle to a Scirocco to a Transporter - I am about to upgrade my life...  I'm getting a MkIII Octavia Estate vRS 4x4 with DSG.

Deciding on an Octavia Estate was easy, deciding which model to go turned out to be much harder as I really wanted a petrol 4x4 but of course there's no such thing (at the moment anyway).

I also thought I'd get a manual but then I drove a Scout with DSG, which changed my mind about the transmission as well as showing me the benefits of 184PS compared to 150 (never knew that PS was German for BHP before either).

So that ruled out everything except the Scout and the vRS so had to try one... just so much more planted and precise than the Scout.  Decision made !

Hello roograpix welcome to the Skoda forum i'm glad you've made up your mind enjoy your hunt take your time the right one will come along .;)

Welcome!  Sounds like a very logical decision making process!   Always best to take your time and you’ll be surprised what you end up with.

It might sound logical and I like to think I'm quite analytical but actually I usually resort to post-rationalisation to justify my decision (to myself as well as my wife) which is probably really based on an emotional response and a desire for gratification.

My wife wasn't involved in the decision !

Which meant I only had to satisfy myself (see above).

Choosing my wife wasn't a very logical process either !!
