Desperation Car selling has arrived - Black Friday/ weekend

Featured Replies

Just shows the desperation of Car Sales , in the last week I have been inundated to attend countrywide dealership to see their fantastic offers.

Think that Manufacturers/ Dealerships greed and poor vision ,suggest to me that many are now trying to shut the door after the horse has bolted on their very high margins and shortly no doubt via government actions their lucrative Finance deal (PCPs etc.)

The above are a snap shot of the internet variety .

Mine were blitzes from dealership emails and other sources.

haven't car sales recently slipped for the first time in years? With the new legislation coming along in the coming years, I'm reluctant to buy anything expensive that may well be worthless soon! Used car prices seem to be really high, I think I will just lease something and see what happens!

But are they actually discounting? Really?

Any time I've ever been near a deal all they've done is have the same margin and drop trade in values.

When they're really cutting prices and offering low deposit 0% finance I might start to believe.

Was about to say "used diesel prices are up not down" but then my quick Google revealed some quality reporting -

11/09/2017

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/09/11/used-diesel-cars-have-lost-quarter-value-since-start-2017/

20/09/2017

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2017/09/20/diesel-cars-defy-demonisation-steady-price-rises/

So they're both down 25% and up 6% within 9 days.

Today's Budget announcement could make a huge difference to people leasing or buying choices between now and Registration changes next year or even just April time.

The changes if any could be good news for Business Users & Private drivers changing the vehicles they lease but bad for private drivers with keepers they own,

but who knows really until he stands up and makes his speech, then the experts can digest it all.

The 'experts' are all snoring in the back seats/benches ?

Easy to amuse that bunch sitting next to Theresa.  Philip Hammond MP has a cracking stand up comedy act.

Damian Green's body language looked pretty uneasy, no real belly laugh noticeable there.

Perhaps he has other issues yet to deal with.

Never eat kippers for your Budget Day breakfast, maybe ?

I like that. "Significant savings available", but we're not telling you what they are. Savings are available, just not here, to you, ever.
