octavia 3 columbus mib 2 update

Featured Replies

hi i know this has been covered many times and i have searched and read all the answers but i still not getting anywhere at all.

I am using a imac and have used clean my disc

1. my Columbus is a retrofit as i only had bolero in my march 2015 octavia 3 wanted to upgrade so could have car play and sat nav.

i'm sure it shouldn't matter what my VIN is to be able to update ?

2. i have tried everything i have a 64gb grade 1 class 10 samsung evo+ micro sd card. i have formatted it to exfat, fat32 and NTFS. i put the card in and it starts searching for update then 2 mins later says " error no data available please insert a source with software update data or check the source"

i have even used a 64gb usb thumb drive. i used winzip for mac to unzip the file straight onto my sd card/usb device. is there something i am doing wrong. starting to get very annoying now. is it cause im using a 64gb card instead of a 32gb?

64Gb should not be an issue as I did the 2018 map update on my one which is the same as yours, I can only assume it is to do with the Mac,

Happy to let you use my card if you want to pop down, or see if someone closer has done this

hi thanks for the reply. ive needed to buy a new laptop for ages anyway so brought one yesterday so ill see how that goes at weekend lol

Did you solve this. I have same problem.

I've been a Mac user for, like ever. When using Disk Utility to format external memory to FAT32 or EXFAT, I still find the occasional issue when then attempting to access the external memory from a Windows or other OS dependant destination. It seems there is a small but significant read/write issue with Macs and DOS formats that makes for frustration situations with sensitive devices.
