Loss of power

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

i’ve been having an issue with my Octavia for a while now, and not had much luck pinning the cause.

i’m running a 1.9 with DSG

the power will just die at times with no warning lights, or any warning from driving feedback. Its as though the throttle drops to idle. If I shift into sport mode, or neutral, or manual it comes back, also if I touch the brakes then accelerate again.

ive had the gearbox checked, it’s fine.

my next port of call is the throttle pedal sensor, as it seems like an electrical or comms issue.

has anyone had similar problems?

thanks

You need to find a local member with VCDS as you may actually have errors logged. It could be anything, but sounds like something is triggering limp mode.

Could be a faulty brake light switch. Or incorrectly adjusted.

If the car thinks the brakes are On it will remove power assuming your braking.

A cheap and easy thing to try anyway, won't throw any faults or log any either.

Maybe not but similar symptoms are seen with the above
