Good evening. I bought an Octavia mk 1 estate because I wanted functionality, somewhere to sleep when it rains if I'm camping, & a car I could run on veg oil.

I love it. Great car!

I also ride Moto Guzzis, & am restoring a 1959 Velocette L.E. Mk 3.

Hi DWRD and welcome.

Never had a Guzzi but I did used to have an L.E (Mk 1 ?) with hand gear change and hand 'kick' start handle .

Maaany years ago I was based at Brawdy (77-80) and I had a brand new  (78) Triumph 750 Tiger whilst there - lovely part of the world and have managed 2 visits back there in the last 4 years.

Mine's a more modern mark 3, kickstart & hopefully 4 gears, 8bhp!

I met a jolly fellow a couple of months ago who'd been at Brawdy, told me "after the Yanks went they left behind a Harley. We used it to get to the Mess, ran it on kerosene. It wore out after a while but we had the kit to fix it up again..."

:D

The LE is still in project stage.

In the meantime I've moved on to a 140bhp 2 litre pd '05 Octavia. Breathtaking!
