The article does not say that he caught it from the shower!

  • Don't take it personally  I think it was bubbling nicely by the time you joined in.  Another form of 'motorsport' for one or two, perhaps.

  • Oh dear, what have I started?!!!!! :-(

  • It won't fail mot, they are part of winter pack and I don't have hids.    Mind your our own business.

No. it does not, but then the panic was set off at other Holiday Resorts and new training given to House Keepers.

What was Piper Dam fined for just the state of the shower heads or bath tubs?

Just a coincidence that he dies of the same strain found in the Hot Tub.

'His death was entirely avoidable in Piperdam had met its statutory health and safety  obligations'.   etc ...'

Probably a lack of proper maintenance; The Jacuzzi is a much more likely cause of infection.  The water needs to be treated with chlorine or bromine and the whole plumbing system has to be regularly maintained.  They would also have to test the water and keep good records.  I worked to US standards and the rules were very strict.

I repeat, you won't catch Legionnaires' from a shower!  But they may have been fined for lack of maintenance of the shower or the Jacuzzi or both.  That does not mean the shower was the cause.

Those minimum undiluted temperatures vary a lot and affect the all in costs of what goes into your bottle. The VW concentrate above is said to be good for -70C and the Lidl concentrate (ok for fanwashers) was ok for -50C. Much of the ready mixed stuff has a pathetic specification or none at all on the label.

I have -23*oC Windscreen wash in the car today and it will be liquid in the car, but if it is -5*oC Air Temp tomorrow i will not be spraying it on my windscreen as i drive along.

Anyway, back to post #1

I shop in Lidl every week & I can't remember the last time I saw their screenwash on sale.

It does look like they've stopped selling it,

Get ours from Makro but you need a card or borrow one from a friend (all NHS workers can apply for a free card unlike Costco who have an annual charge). Think it was £3.99 for 5 litres but might be wrong, need to buy some more soon.

I've been buying this stuff from EuroCarParts.

Ah, looks promising, as does the price - but I can't see on the ECP web site what the dilution options are.  Do you happen to know what dilutions they recommend for different expected temperatures?  One of the things I liked about the Lidl concentrated stuff was that the label explained that nice and clearly.

Very much, thank you!  All in all it looks very similar to the stuff Lidl used to sell.  Just find time to pop in to my local ECP!

No worries. I get my ECP orders delivered as it’d be a 20 mile round trip to my nearest branch and delivery is free, whereas my fuel isn’t :)

Hmm, no such luck here, unfortunately :crying:

I'm tempted to ask them exactly how screenwash manages to be a classed as a dangerous good in Scotland but not in Yorkshire?

Sorry, one of more items in your basket are not available for delivery to your postcode. Some products that are classed as 'Dangerous Goods' cannot be delivered to your address by our couriers.

Well that is odd. Perhaps it’s the  courier and not ECP who dictate this.

My ECP deliveries are always through DHL
