Only one headlight washer working...

Featured Replies

Hi.

I've had a look through the rest of the forum but couldn't find a similar topic...

The offside headlight washer on my Mk2 Octavia VRS isn't working. I'm not sure how long it's been like that or if it's ever worked as the car is second hand. The nearside one works fine but the offside doesn't even pop out of the bumper when activated. This makes me think the pump is okay but either the hose has come off the offside nozzle or the washer jet is malfunctioning.

I can physically pull it out and it then slowly retracts back into the bumper with a sloshing/rushing water sound but I don't see any puddles of water forming under the car if it is leaking.

Has anyone had this happen to them? What's the best way to get to the back of the washer jet, can I do it by just removing the headlight rather than the whole bumper?

Thanks for reading!
