Are sure about your initial statement? Where is the source of that information?

To my understanding projectors are only available with xenon.

As above; to my knowledge the pre-facelift MK3 had 3 headlamp variations. Halogen reflector, Bi-Xenon Projector, and Bi-Xenon Projector with LED DRL.

Hi, Left hand headlamp is halogen dipped and full beam, central headlamp Xenon with a (I'm guessing side light as it's a 5w bulb) and is non DRL, right hand lamp is Bi Xenon with DRL

 

I've not seen a halogen projector lamp for the Oct 3 yet
