DSG funnies

Featured Replies

I had to let one of our admin girls borrow my company car yesterday. She refused to drive it at first because its got DSG, but i managed to persuade her (also she had no other choice because all the other cars were out :))

I went through the endless waffle of explaining how to drive an "Automatic" and told her how the brake worked etc etc.

anyway...

she went out and came back in green in the face saying she nearly crashed 5 times on a 1.5 mile round trip. She said "The brakes are really sharp on that car, i hate it". I asked her what foot she was using to brake with, and she said "Left, i cant move my right foot off the accelerator" (this is coming from someone who drives a manual?!?!?!

She then said to me, "you didnt tell me there was an accelerator too, you only told me about the brake". HOW ELSE IS IT MEANT TO GO?!?! lol!!!!!

I just cant get over the stupidity of someone who's 27 and has told me countless times "I've been driving longer than you so i'm better"

Funnily enough the one feature of an automatic, car starting to move once lifting foot off brake, didnt catch her out

Please don't say she's blonde, please

That is the funniest thing I've read for ages!!! What car does she normally drive?

Good stuff

Having owned a car with a traditional "slush box" before, the best advice I ever had (and that I passed on, when I sold the car privately) was to pretend that your left leg has been removed. Freaky, but it works...

Si

LMAO!

If she can drive a manual how can she struggle with an auto? Even hill starts are impossible to balls up!

I find the best way is to conciously push your left leg onto the foot rest all the time - after a mile or so you drive normally.

Shes not blonde - which actually makes it more funny i suppose :)

She usually drives a Mk2 golf GTI. I told her that her left leg wont be used to left foot braking because her clutch is as heavy as bricks and the brake pedal on a new car is soft as kittens.

At least i know my seat position in my company car wont EVER change now :)

She also said it sounded like it was never changing gear and it felt like it was always in first. I had to tell her that you cant feel DSG change gear and it actually tells you on the dash. She was apparently too scared to look at the dash LOL!

God forbid if she had slipped it across to tiptronic!!! Redline all the way!

What car have you got:confused:

First time i drove an auto I set off came to a junction and stopped very rapidly as I used the brake as a clutch. After that was fine and drove for three weeks fine, then got back to UK got in skoda. Was fine going up through gears but stalled three times getting out of car park by not using clutch when slowing down. Very embarrasing. But hopefully next time I have to make the change I wil get it right.

What car have you got:confused:

Daves got the Mk5 Glof with the 2.0l TDI engine.
