hi all,

im just waiting on money before i buy the following components for my octy vRS

Head unit: Pioneer DEHP77MP

Speakers: Rockford FNP 2614 and Rockford FNP2514

Sub and amp: Punch 201S Amplifier

12" Punch Z Subwoofer

Rockford Carpeted Bass Enclosure

Complete IXOS amplifier wiring kit

what do you all think

I think I've already confirmed the sub & amp package is top notch. :speaker: I still can't imagine audio without my sub now - it just adds a real power to all music I listen to.

I'll say the speakers are good, but only because of the brand, and not from experience or knowledge.

AND, I'd love to know what the "IXOS amplifier wiring kit" is. - I would hope that a new amp would come with all the cables needed... or thinking about it, maybe not as mine didn't come with power or RCA feed... - Cost me another

I'm just planning my upgrade too, will be split in stages as I can't afford to do it all in one go :( .

First stage is this weekend when I buy and fit some Focal component speakers in the front and some replacement speakers in the back :).

Then the Alpine head unit :) followed buy a sub and amp when finances allow.

Changing the speakers first so the wife won't notice :silly:

anyone else?

Pioneer head unit does give you top SQ, the only downside is the light level for the knobs at night is just too much. I've modded my head unit fascia so it's a little dimmer. Alternativly, if you just lower the screen (as if to insert a cd), the lights go out and you're left with a green colour which matches perfectly my fabia dash illumination ;)

Can't comment on that particular sub and amp combo, but when my old man had a tavia and added a little sub and amp (less powerful, but decent SQ), it was much better, and he didn't change the speakers, so my guess is you'll have something superb. :)
