Preventative mods

Featured Replies

Been looking at doing a few ‘preventative mods’ to iron out a few what I understand to be weak points on my 2010 petrol Octy vrs fl. I am going for r8 coil packs and a dv+ but I don’t seem to be able to find any definitive answers as to whether a  pcv delete kit is worth it or not? Has anyone on here done this and is it worth it?

Having owned my car for a year now, my plan has always been to go for an AMD custom map and exhaust however I have had a list of things I wanted to iron out / tidy up first hence sorting out these bits.

Mine is tuned at Amd essex, I can definitely recommend thier costume map.

Have you done the tensioner? as that would be my priority, not too sure about catch can as I don't have one.  I don't know if it is worth having it, but I'm sure someone will be along here soon who has used it.

Cheers for the reply. Yep tensioner was the first thing I had done when I purchased the car last year.

I have also used AMD previously on my mk1 Octy vrs and they were fantastic.

The pcv delete is not a catch can it’s a blanking kit which completely removes the pcv valve. Allegedly it makes for smoother idle and cuts down on carbon build up. Hopefully someone can shed some light on it being worth while or not for me

I have a Forge PCV delete / catch can.  I empty  it of  around 200ml of horrible goop every 2-3 tanks of fuel (about 2000km).  I have no idea if it's doing any good but i figure that preventing 1-2litres of oily rubbish from going into the inlet can't be a bad thing.

you can buy a kit off aliexpress.

looks like this
