1.0 TSI Air Filter

Featured Replies

Morning all,

Does anyone know how to get to the air filter on a 1.0 TSI? I had a quick look but can't see that it will as easy as other cars I've owned unless I'm missing something...

Had 2nd service recently but noticed they don't change the air filter so would like to check it's condition and for any debris etc.

?

How many miles has your car done?

Did you pay a SEAT Dealership the cost of a Major Service and they never changed the Air Filter?

?

How much was that service, or do you have a Service Plan?

They will say not due until 4 years or 40,000 miles, but then they should not charge the same for a 4th fixed service as the 2nd fixed service,

the 2nd service being too expensive if the Technician decides what gets replaced, and decides without even checking the Air Filter or the Spark Plugs.

Thanks for the reply. I got two years free servicing with the car when purchased in 2016 so this is it's last 'free' one.

Car has done 12,000 miles so just wanted to check it out as on past cars my air filters get dirty quickly as I drive a very urban/dirty commute.

You are right.

Environmental issues are exactly why 'Manufacturers Schedules' are ridiculous.

In Cities with Gridlock Traffic, Dirty Busses & Goods Vehicles polluting an Air Filter can need changing every year, or at least checked.

I do not know what your Air Box looks like, but i suspect you need to a Torx Bit to unscrew the screws.

Just pull into the Dealership, ask for the Service Manager, and tell them you were unhappy that the Air Filter was maybe not checked,

and you know not replaced.

They can offer you a cuppa, the Technician can take 10 minutes and change your air filter for Free Gratis,

because if you had done more miles between Services the Free Service Plan you paid for Paid already for an Air Filter.
