Brake pads

Featured Replies

Hiya I would like to have you guys help..

Thinking about changing my pads removed the wheel and on the clipper says Vl581 but everytime I look on eurocarparts all the pads shows with a wear sensor but I don't see any sensor coming off the pads?!? It's for a 1.6 tdi with 288mm discs..

Don't worry about the wear sensor, just snip the wire off

Thank you very much :) that makes sense..now it looks like a stupid question

Yeah, some have sensors, some don't. Cutting them off or taping them up is the thing to do.

Im running wear sensor pads on my fabia. just cable tied the sensor away, dont worry about it!

If the sensor cable is not connected,  then cut the cable off. Tying or taping it up is dangerous if it gets loose and caught up in the rotating bits.

Good point, xman, although I doubt the thin wire will cause much damage to a rotating wheel or brake disc, the sensor its-self might score the disc. I think overall, you'd be quite unlucky to sustain any real damage but always a possibility.

There's a hefty connector on the end of the wire, which is made from pretty tough stuff.
