Fabia II Greenline Exhaust

Featured Replies

Can't believe I can't find numerous posts on this topic, or have I just missed them?

Fabia failed the MOT for the first time in seven years (and 107k miles) because of a hole in the back exhaust box and a split in the front flexible. No shame for it's age and miles. However, a telephone call to Skoda (and any other reputable non-franchised garage) resulted in the following: "Ah yes sir, a new exhaust for your Fabia; we'll need it for two days and it'll be around £2500"

!!!!!!!!!! WTF?

And as a result of there being NO aftermarket front or middle pipes that are manufactured for my model, two of the three pipes have to come directly from Skoda.

Given that there appears to be NO problem with the DPF or the Catalytic converter, I would still require a front pipe that includes the DPF (over £1000 plus VAT) and a middle pipe that includes the catalytic converter(didn't even price that one!!)!

Absolutely unbelievable. Am I missing something, or is Skoda (VAG) taking the almighty p1ss???? And why does the design of these pipes not include joints at appropriate positions so the pipes can be renewed without changing the DPF and cat. when they're clearly not needed?

I know it’s different but on my 1.6 there’s a join just after the dpf, nothing on the greenline?

Skoda taking the pith and the garages.

Have you spoken with Tyre & Exhaust centres like ATS Euromaster,  or your Local Motor Factors?

Nope, no joint on the downside of the PDF!

Typical (although not identical) from Bosal . . . and as you can see: No joint and "N/A".... (only from Skoda) for the front pipe.5b1d844dd42d5_FabiaIIExhaust.thumb.PNG.218e4217bf696d947fc571e7baaaea64.PNG

Yep. I have contacts in the trade who confirmed "No aftermarket PDF assembly".

However, I have had the whole job completed by a very helpful and competent local outfit who saved me a fortune.

What did they do? I would recon an exhaust manufacturer that makes classic car pipes in stainless, would have solved the problem cheaper then the dealer AND it'd have been a one off, stainless replacement, custom built!

They did exactly that... and made a lovely job of it.
