Anyone had a ram air kit?

Featured Replies

Has anyone got a ram air jsk-123-rd, fitted to a 2.0 tsi octavia?

Im looking to get one and wanted to know if it makes the car sound sportier?

I love to performance on my car but always felt it needed a bit of sound when you boot it.

Cheers mike

Can't comment on that particular model, but they do make a nice noise - I had an EVOMs on my TFSI and it was nice subtle upgrade, but easy to hear the air sucking in compared to standard. Nothing beats an after market exhaust though for aural pleasure :)

I’ve got a ram-air kit and yes it does add a nice sound in my opinion but I know that it’s not to everyone’s taste. I’ve since added a miltek non-res cat back and I agree with Timmyboy, that has made by far the best difference in sound

Don't want to hijack the thread but a relevant question.

I keep hearing some people say by adding a induction kit etc it can cause the engine management light to stay on due to it detecting more air than it is programmed for. Is this correct at all?

Not a problem I have had since fitting the ram air kit. Just plug and play for me

I have a ram air kit, No reports of engine check light.
