AC condensation drain

Featured Replies

I've just got my AC fixed, unfortunately the compressor required replacing but it's working great now. I have noticed that there's no water under the car when its left running so I'm assuming that there's a drain from the evaporator that's blocked? I've seen some posts showing a location for a drain but it's for a manual ac model, is the climatronic drain in the same location as I cannot find it?

If you remove the side carpeted panel from the drivers side you will see it at the bottom of the air box, it goes though a grommet.

To remove said panel, remove ashtray, take out the 2 screws underneath it,  1 screw about half way down the panel on the outside, pull firmly from under panel and slide forward and then back, if I have forgot anything folks feel free to chip in it's been ages since I took mine out.

Hope this helps

Much appreciated, it was where you said it would be. I had to lift the gearstick gator to access 2 screws to remove the ashtray, then a further screw under the ashtray as well as the visible screw at the front of the carpeted panel. The plastic footrest had to be removed as well as the support behind the footrest held with 2 10mm plastic nuts. Blew it through and all working correctly now.

Many Thanks

Andy

Glad to see you got it sorted in the end, I could not remember what has to come off as like I said it's been ages since I got mine off, but gave you plenty of pointers and where to look for screws, I don't recall taking my footrest off, maybe they are different as I have a 2007 VRS.

Just blew through the drain on a 06 climatronic  in an attempt to solve inconsistent Aircon operation.

Sheesh what a job that was, my hand and wrist look like I've been self harming!

No obvious signs of build up when removing the temp sensor from the evaporator box, the Aircon is still as temperamental and no condensate seen dripping from outside.
