SD Mix function on Bolero

Featured Replies

Hi all

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I have SD card set to mix play, yet songs still play alphabetically according to folder name. File folders are by artist arranged in sub folders from the root of the card. I've done the individual MP3 file at root but still no joy. I'd love for the shuffle function to be truly random but the card always progresses from A to Z. Any insight or tips would be most welcome. If I have to listen to my AC/DC being followed by the Mrs' Adele one more time.............:@

I share your pain, IMHO Adele has released more tracks that make the listener want to commit suicide than any other artist, they are just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO depressing :punch:

try listening to some leonard cohen tracks!!  ; - D)

The way that mine works is:-

1) Turn off the mix function

2) Navigate to the mp3 track in the root directory of the SD card

3) Play that mp3 file

4) Press the Mix button whilst it is playing.

The mix function then works for me but it does have a tendancy to play 3 tracks from each randomly selected directory before selecting a new one. This is with a Blaupunkt manufactured Bolero. On previous Delphi manufactured originally fitted to the car the mix function worked perfectly but it had a tendancy to change radio channels by itself occasionally and only for about 5 seconds at a time.

Exactly the same steps I've been using. Problem I have though is rather than jump in a truly random fashion, the mix function seems to pick (as you mentioned also) one or two tracks from an artist folder then move on to next one alphabetically.

Hence I'm always listening to artists in the same running order. Much worse things to worry about in life I'm sure, but it's becoming a repetitive annoyance.

Most tragic thing is SWBoy she ain't the worst artist that I've let the other half have on. Each to their own I suppose. Thinking separate SD cards for whoever is in the car might be required though.
