I’m going to look at a Karoq tomorrow after testing the Seat Arona last week ( also test driven MG ZS and Hyundai Kona), the reviews I’ve seen in the magazines have put the Karoq and  Arona together but the Arona look smaller and the dimensions (plus price) confirm this. I thought they were both built on the same platform but obviously not. Are they buit on the same platform?

No, the Arona is smaller than the Karoq. The Karoq is the same size as the Seat Ateca.

No, the Arona is on the MQB A0 and the Karoq On the MQB 1 platform.

Ok thanks , saves me a trip to the dealer. Will there be a smaller Skoda suv ?

There is meant to be one in 2019, based on the platform used by the Arona and a new VW called a T-Cross. 

 

They showed the concept for it at Geneva, called the "Vision X".  some journalists suggested it would be called an Anuq or Aniq or something like that.
