Help!!!!!!!!!

I broke something

im in ther process of fitting my handsfree kit and decided to but the mic behind the light switches in the headlining and now none of the lights up there work and the little slidy switch now longer slides it just flops about any help would be great

cheers John

John,

When I was doing exactly the same, a tiny spring and washer popped off the back of the sliding switch on the interior light causing the switch to be floppy & the interior lights not to function.:thumbdwn:

The function of the spring (which is held in place by the tiny washer) is to keep pressure on the contact parts of the sliding switch, without it when the sliding switch is reinstalled the sliding part will hang down a little and not make proper contact.

After a lengthy and careful search of my car I eventually found the tiny spring that had popped out but I had to "bodge" up a new retaining washer for it as I couldn't find it.

Anyway, it all works again as it should & having the integrated handsfree carkit was worth the hassle.

HTH

Edited to add: It also blew the fuse which I had to replace after the repair.
