VW Amarok

Featured Replies

Anyone owned an Amarok? Is it good as a family car and is the back loader waterproof (or can be made waterproof to carry sensitive items?

TIA

It's a pickup and whilst the interior maybe more chunky car like it is built to carry weight and without it the suspension is a bit harsh. The 4wd version is softer but if you're getting it as company car then beware that it payload is reduced to less than a tonne so doesn't qualify as a commercial vehicle and instead BIK as a car! Also applies to the Ford's too.

They're also wide and long with slow steering so not that much fun to drive, they are also longer than most parking spaces. Unless you really need a pick up and willing to accept these issues then look at something else. I would really be careful with sensitive items in the back too.

As well to buy a nice Caravelle.

I was in a £34,995 Amarok this week and i would rather have a Toyota HiLux.
