Management light

Featured Replies

Hi guys I had a heart attack in November and just been starting my 14 plate superb diesel to warm it up but my management light had come on and in limp mode??????)

Sorry to hear that and hope you get well soon. I think you will need someone with either VCDS or a Skoda garage, not sure which. I too have not been able to drive because of my heart for six months and start my car once a week and run it for an hour. If the revs are higher than tick over when going to switch off I let it run until they go back to tick over as it is having a regeneration and needs to complete.

Had to get my son to take the car to the garage and put some fuel in it last week.:D

Yes I know about regen this maybe the problem that it needs to regenerate or as someone said may be battery which sometimes turns it sluggish lol

The state of the battery shouldn't be an issue as it's got the engine running.  Might need a forced regen though. Best to take it to a trusted VAG specialist and get it sorted.

Just my opinion FWIW.

I wish you well.

Shouldn't be DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) related, if the car has been stood then it's unlikely there has been the opportunity for enough soot to build up.

The Superb is well documented to generate strange electrical issues when the battery begins to fail, despite happily starting the engine.

Neither the DPF or a duff battery would result in limp home mode, unless there are other issues, such as the DPF light at play.

As suggested earlier, the car needs scanning for fault codes.

Right guys with regards this problem was DPF so followed handbook instructions drove at 2500for about 10ml all cleared up cheers

Glad you got it sorted.

So you got the DPF light...

...as well as the Engine Management Light (EML) then...

Once a DPF fault results in limp-home mode it can't be cleared by following the instructions in the handbook, it needs a forced-regeneration which can only be performed using software.

Something missing here...
