ALARMING REPORT

Featured Replies

Interesting report on bbc iPlayer that cars with Clifford and Pandora alarm systems with remote start (thought it was illegal in uk) can be hijacked whilst been driven, engine turned off and doors unlocked by hackers following behind.

Read like the flaws were actually in the authentication of the internet based element of the system. So not on the alrm itself.

They were using internet flaws to take over the user account which then gave them access to elements of the vehicle system like tracking or the start/ stop.

I'm not shocked. This sort of thing is quite common and until manufacturers are held liable very little will be done.
