Curious about upgrading the air intake in my 1.2 TSI Rapid to a cold air intake. KN filters do one for £50 odd, but is it a worthwile upgrade? Want to see what people's opinions are on it who have done the upgrade.  Seen a few posts on here about it making the engine sound a bit throatier but not much in terms of performance.

 

Are they a simple upgrade to do (as in a straight swap) or do you need to alter the piping/layout?

i had an induction kit without cold air feed on a gen 6 celica, it sounded great but wasn’t great performance wise
