The Peugeot HVAC and auto are both Japanese now, instrumentation German Continental and the Prince engine is proven.

 

Depends what the problems are though, too.........

 

Is seriousness of problem taken into account?

I recall a 'sta't that Audi are the worse German manufacturer in terms of major mechanical component and engine failures.  

 

Also where's Lexus in that list? 

Lexus tops the US list...............Least problems

 

And Audi quite high up.........Go figure

This.

 

I see a lot of broken down Peugeots and Vauhalls. Very few BMW, Audi, Jag or Merc.

Lots of those cars have a lot of tech extras. More complexity is going to mean more points of failure.

 

I think I'd rather see some measure of serious faults, like red engine lights, fault that take more than 3hr to fix that sort of thing.
