CD Changer problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

Please can anybody advise me on the following problem.

I have a fabia vrs with a symphony stereo coupled to a factory fitted cd changer under the passenger seat.

The stereo works fine in radio and single disc mode (ie in the radio head unit) but when you select a disc from the changer there is only sound from the left speakers.

Can anybody tell me whether there are seperate left and right audio connections from the cd changer to the head unit, as the fault would indicate that if this were the case the right hand connection is not connected properly?

If there are seperate connections please could someone tell me the easiest way of removing the stereo to check the connections? - I don't want to disconnect it, just check the connections are correctly fitted.

Thanks

Assuming there is some similarity between the Octy Symphony and the Fabia Symphony - yes, there is separate left and right wires from the changer.

On the rear of your head unit as you look at it, they should be the two wires to the rightmost of the top "block" of connectors.

As an alternative, as your car will quite obviously be under warranty, take it back to your dealer and get them to fix it - all part of quality control and feedback! :)

Rob.
