Some of you will know me from the Fabia forum where I was very active, I have been less active now I have the more "sensible" Octavia but I have been lurking and am making a come back! 

 

Need some advice now though guys and gals - I am planning to fit a new stereo to my car on Saturday and need advice on the facia. I have a Stream radio at the moment but the new one is more Columbus shape so need to change the surround/facia...but do I also have to/can I also upgrade the existing climatronic to the face-lift style...

 

Any help/advice/part numbers/links/guides much appreciated

I think that I found the part number that I needed for my Chinese head unit but those available were quite expensive given that I was not sure that they would match the outside profile of my radio so I made some adaptor pieces out of Foamex sheeting sprayed matt black, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles would be pleased with the finished job!

Keep an eye on the battery discharge, you may need to change the Canbus gateway controller.
