Fuel Filter Change

Featured Replies

How often should the fuel filter be changed on the 1.4 three pot diesel, I can't seem to find any mention of it in the handbook. I had it done on the last service a year ago & the car is telling me a oil change is due in 300 miles so I thought I might have it changed at the same time.

The Skoda Fixed Service price menu at participating dealers shows that they might change diesel fuel filters at Major Services.

This is on cars 3 to 10 years old.

How many miles had your car done when it was serviced last year, and does the fuel filter show on the invoice?

Ask the Service Desk staff what they can see about changing the Fuel Filter,

just for a laugh.

I had it serviced last at an independent garage & it's done nearly 9500 mile since the last service.

I was asking how many miles when it was first done.

Skoda / VW / Audi / Seat dealers might do them every 20,000 miles / 2 years, or might not.

Like I said the last service wasn't done at a main dealers & the mileage was 20483, from what I can see in the service history the fuel filter hadn't been touched until I had it done last year.

Sounds right to do at each 20,000 miles or 2 years in the UK where diesel is not going to be contaminated as in some world regions.

Pollen Filter every 2 years or sooner, do not leave Air Filters 40,000 miles without checking them.

Brake fluid at 3 years or sooner and every 2 years.

I change the air filter at least once a year, you can feel a difference even it doesn't look dirty.
