OPS-system on Columbus

Featured Replies

Hi, folks.

Discovered something strange when parking my 2009 Superb MK2 today. The PDC has always shown a picture of the rear end of the car on the Columbus screen, when I am backing into a spot. But today it showed a sideways view of the car, and the screen said something about OPS. It has never done that before, and didn't when I tried again. My car has only the rear sensors, so why did it warn me about the side of the car?

OPS stands for Optical Parking System.

Sounds like the Columbus has had a wobble.

I can't recall any sideways graphics, are you sure it wasn't looking from above, but visualising the whole car i.e. showing front and rear parking sensors, even though the front sensors aren't fitted?

Yeah, my bad. It was from above, but I don't have front sensors. It seemed like it was warning me about the car next to me. It was a tight spot... But should it even do that without the front sensors?

If you don't have front sensors (or PArk Assist) you should never see the image from above, like mentioned, sounds like the Columbus got it's knickers in a twist briefly.
