Comparison between Sport mpg and Normal mpg on 1.5 Tsi DSG Karoq

Featured Replies

As we are old and “modern”, we are looking at converting from diesel VRS mk1 Fabia and diesel VRS mk3 Octavia to a 1.5 Tsi Karoq.

Just done a test drive and was NOT impressed with the 1.5 engine in normal mode.

So the salesman said use the sport setting.
Now that was a lot better.
Even sorted out an individual setting with only the throttle in sports setting.

Now the bad thoughts start to creep in.
How much worse is the mpg in sport compared to normal?

i know it is wrong, but we have been spoilt by driving beautiful cars around.

We've owned a manual Karoq SEL 1.5TSi for nearly 2 years and 22,500 miles and it has averaged 46mpg (best of 63.2mpg on 27 mile commute in summer) and using the Individual mode everything is set to normal except engine response in Sport and the ACT 2 cylinder shutdown still works and we always have stop/start activated which according to studies saves upto 8% in fuel usage compared to switching it off. The DSG box seems to use about 10% more fuel in the real world.😣
