See Youtube and Videos in new Karoq with Columbus car

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a new 2020 Karoq Style with Columbus system.

Everything works fine (for the moment), only i want to connect my phone (Samsung Note 10+) to car and if possible completely Mirror it.

This is impossible. I connect it through Android Auto (pre-install in both the car and phone),i can have maps, music etc. but not other apps e.g Youtube or Facebook. I not know the way i can see these in car. Media Command, although pre-installed in car is not working, i cannot find similar apps in Mirrorlink or Android Auto compatible.

And also, i cannot see my videos from phone in car (although photos i can).

If someone can help i would really appreciate this. Thanks

As regards Android Auto. Youtube, FB etc. is not available. This is because there is no AA-versions of said apps. Think also it's because safety concerns. Only a limited amounts of apps are available with AA compatibility and some, such as WhatsApp, are limited as regards functionality (eg you can only preview a message when standing still).

if you google it - you can get another version of android auto that allows the youtube app to be mirrored on your head unit - it was cut out of the 'proper' official version due to the possible distraction issues - i wouldnt recommend using it while the cars being driven but waiting in the carpark for the wife to finishing shopping its invaluable - lol

If you need only youtube music, install Youtube Music App. It is available in AA.

Unfortunately Android Auto is pretty installed in Samsung Note 10 so you cannot use older version and the YouTube Auto (or Carstream the way was later named). Also impossible to fully mirror phone to Columbus.

So, install Youtube Music app from PlayStore. Then you need to update to youtube premium account in order the app to be available in AA.

I definitely tried it. It was YouTubeAuto, after Google play store blocked it many times and became Carstream.

In Android10 with preinstalled Android Auto nothing works.

Yeah - dont think you can use normal android auto - as it blocks it - when i did this on my old phone had to get a 'cracked' android auto version to allow this - also on the phone allow 'unknown apps'

this might be a better 'how to'

Sorry for bringing this topic back to life, but since iOS26 now supports airplay to car screens while stationary, do you know if and how is this possible?
