mk2 fabia vrs engine

Featured Replies

Hi all

Im looking at changing cars I'm thinking mk2 Octavia vrs but for some reason I have the fabia vrs in mind, even though there are loads of reports of engine problems with the fabia. By  now will all the mk2 fabia vrs engines be sorted or is there still a chance that a large number are out there ready to go belly up. Also whats the rough cost to have one rebuilt to a standard where it wont go pop under normal daily use.

Welcome.

All MK2 Fabia vRS engines are not sorted. Many go from owner to owner never getting fixed. Bought and rejected or punted to WBAC / AC /EH etc.

There are ones that never had problem, and ones with new engines or more than one new engines.

The rough cost of sorting one is greater than the cost of the cheaper cars offered for sale and half the price of the more expensive ones.

There are ones not considered as economic to repair because not only can the engines be an issue but also DQ200 DSG's.

Maybe look for good ones that a BRISKODA member is selling and that might well be a good one.

Thanks for the reply, I had seen the linked post, I keep telling myself to discount them but the irrational side of my brain says get one

@angrydad

I replied to your post when you introduced yourself.

Really you need a Twincharger and DQ200 like you need a hole in your head. Just say no.   & all the best.

Still plenty of good ones out there, Just need a bit of knowledge and luck.
