I’m looking to buy a second hand Mk3 Fabia SE L with the 1.4 TDi engine. Other than the coolant pump issues i’ve just been reading about, are there any other issues to look out for??

We bought one a few months old off the Skoda UK car scheme. 16 plate SE L. Really economical, and no issues, other than two water pumps. Then the new owner (SiL) had another water pump, while out of warranty but because we went back to the dealership where we'd bought it and had it serviced, they got us some goodwill from Skoda UK.

 

Other than that it has just worked fine to this day. Only sold it because we wanted an estate, DSG, and something a fraction newer (18 plate 1.0 TSi DSG).
