Featured Replies

hi there

I have skoda Octavia 2017 . 1.6 dsg. on 42k mileage I took it to the local garage and ask the guy that do I need a dsg oil change. he said yes . he told me that he had a golf dsg and he does his one every 40 k. he ask me to bring the littler of oil . which I bought from the vw dealer. but when he open the dsg oil tank . only 1.7 litter oil came out. he confused . then he called the skoda and talk to them . they told him that this 7 speed dsg doesn't need the dsg oil change. but he told them that he already open the tank and the oil is already flushed out. then skoda guy ask his about the oil he has my mechanic told them the name and number of the oil. they said to him that it is a correct oil just put it in and close the tank should be fine . he did the same. now my question is hence oil been changed at 42k now the car is sitting at 85k do I need to change it again or just leave it as it is.

please help me out.

I believe the 7 speed DSG need the oil changing at 80,000 miles whereas the 6 speed DSG had it changed at 40,000 so you could wait until your car reaches 120,000 miles assuming you are in the UK of course.

Different 7 speed, the dry clutch one in his car has no schedule, though as he discovered, it is possible to do.

Hi Shy, interested to know where the 80K miles figure comes from?

I have the 7 speed, and have seen the Youtube vid on how to do it (looks straightforward), but not found anything on when/intervals...other than the normal 'sealed for life'.

The 80,000 miles comes from a particular 7 speed wet clutch DSG.  The DQ381

The DQ200 Twin dry clutch DSG has 2 oils, in the MCU and in the box, different oils.

There is no Service Schedule / Recommendations for changing.
