New Superb Ride Height - Not Quite What I Wanted!!!

Just thought I would share these pictures with you as all I can do is laugh about it:

Basically, with all this raving about the 'BP Ultimate Diesel' this morning I decided to fill up agin for the second time, slightly late for work and slightly tired I filled up and sped off down the M40 to Banbury, where I work.

Car started spluttering and when I left the M40 if konked out. Then it just wouldn't start, just wouldn't fire up!! Not good!!

After sitting there waiting for the tow truck I thought I would investigate a little and yes to my surprise I could smell Unleaded in the tank!!!

WHAT A MUPPET!!!

Anyway

Look for the DARK blue Ultimate nozzle. ;)

Its official - Your car needs lowering by 3 foot!

Ride height is spot on.

Fuel choice isnt..lol

Cheers, I have removed the rear adjusters for the coilovers since the last pictures so the back is about 7-10mm lower now.

Looks good (ignoring the flatloader at this stage :P ) - how are you finding it with speed bumps etc?

Speed humps are not too much of a problem, you just have to go slow, that doesn't bother me but I guess it bothers other road users.

You can't beat the ride height though and the speed humps are just a small problem to get over, LOL!!

Planning on making it look a little lower at the front in the next few weeks, I have managed to find an OEM Superb front Spoiler that is on back order.

Looks cool! Can you estimate whats the total lowering in the front and back at the moment? I got similar 17" rims with 225/45 tyres and with standard springs the car looks more or less like a tractor...:o

Love the ride height mate, looks really  !

It does look good, or at least I am happy with it!!

Changes the complete look of the car Superb IMO!!

Sorry to spoil the mood guys but, I think it's too low. The Superb is too much like a luxury car to be lowered this much IMO.

If there was a Superb vRS then maybe....

Did you forget to fit the springs? ;)

Fair enough mate, forums are all about opinions but IMO any car lowered looks better than at the factory fitted standard ride height.

Lowering the car makes it look more agressive and 'fatter' IMO.

Superb VRs, now there is a thought!!

Are they 2s? If so they are harder than the 3s, can't remember what adjustment you get on the 2's but the 3s have bump and rebound. I got mine so that in normal driving it was slightly firmer than standard, but on track it was much harder :D

2's and 3's?!?!?! Sorry mate but I could only afford the 1's!!

Would have loved the 3's but how many Superb's have you seen on the track?

;)

Seen a couple - nicest one was german one - Basically a rebodied RS6, with KW v3, OZ super leggras and some huge Porsche brakes - Stunning!

Now that sounds like a nice car!!

twas far king quick too :D :D

:) The ride height looks spot on. An extra couple of mm lower at the front and you are there!

I'd love to lower mine a bit more, probably on Weitec coilovers, but I ground out too much as it is. I think I'd be ok if I had the extra firmness of the coilovers... hmmm. Will have to wait and see.

But nice looking motor anyway, love it!

A little lower at the front? Yeah maybe you are right?

Had it 10mm lower at the front but I couldn't get it off the ramps, maybe I can lower it around 5mm?

Have to see what happens when I put those ASA's on for the first time.

Thanks mate.

Nice to find someone else who also has to take speed bumps at 5mph. FK coilovers are about the same, but they're stiff everywhere. I often play pothole slalom on my commute, now I've learned (the hard way) where all the nasty bits are.

But you can't go wrong with the lowered look of a car.
