Door Mirror Switch

Featured Replies

Hi all, thanks to this awesome forum I’ve managed to repair my door loom as the drivers door had stopped locking.

only problem is that the mirror switch no longer operates the mirrors and doesn’t even light up with the headlights on. I’m guessing the plug just isn’t seated correctly so rather than taking the door card off again does anyone know if it’s possible to remove the mirror switch as an easier way for me to check the wiring.

thanks

The mirror switch should be removable on its own. Whether or not this can be done without taking more of the door card off, I can't remember off hand. It's been a couple of years since I did the wiring loom on mine. You could try prying it out with a plastic trim tool.

You should be able to tell once you get the door handle grip off again. And by that point you're just a few screws/bolts and a good pull and it's off anyway and you'll be able to check the plug is in or push the switch out if you need to go further in-depth.

Thanks for the reply, there was a break in the weather this afternoon so ended up as you say removing the door card again. All sorted out and it turned out to be the cable was disconnected.
