Comfort sunshade closing not working anymore after battery died.

Featured Replies

Hi people. Last week the battery died in a combination of short rides, Webasto heater use and unusually cold weather (-18C) for Helsinki. Bottom line was that I went to take my son to football training and the car didn't have enough juice to start. Unluckily, even my power pack was in its last legs (although checked in Autum and had a full charge) and although it had one dot out of four in the power indicator (and the manufacturer claimed that it would give you up to three tries to start the car), nothing happened. Later I saw that the selector was in 16v, but I can't really swear that that was the case when I tried to jump start the car as I pushed the selector several times later and if this did matter at all.

Anyway, bottom line was that I had to charge the battery with my MXS 5.0 (thank you CTEK for your lovely chargers) and once fully charged, everything was back to normal apart from the sunshade comfort closing ceasing to work (and a weird freeze and reebot of the infotaiment en-route that I don't know if it is related). My car is a 2016 that had the comfort closing of the sunroof disabled by Skoda due to a malfunction with the anti-pinching setting in some of the cars. But the sunshade comfort closing was left alone and you could close the shade by long presssing the close button in your remote. The windows comfort opening and closing work as usual.

I have tried the reset of the sunshade by long pressing the forward button for 10 seconds of so, but it doesn't open-close, just make a bit of noise and like it tries to goes forward and just stops. Other wise function is fine. Any ideas of how to bring back the comfort closing, before I mention it to Skoda when I need to take the car there?. Is it possible to do something through coding?. I might be getting an OBD eleven soonish to add the road sign recognition and if the sunsahde comfort closing can be sorted from there, I won't bother with the "stealer". On another note, could the disabled panoramic roof comfort closing be brought back with the OBD eleven coding?.

Thanks.
